Americans Want a National Commission to Investigate the Insurrection the Capitol
Today, Data for Progress released a new national polling showing that a significant majority of Americans support creating a national commission to investigate the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on January 6th. 66% of voters — including 61% of Republicans and 59% of Independents — support creating a commission to investigate what happened at the Capitol and to prevent future attacks.

In the House of Representatives, Congressman Jamaal Bowman (NY-16) has introduced legislation, known as the COUP Act, to create such a commission.

Following last week's riot at the U.S. Capitol, some lawmakers in Congress are calling for the creation of a national commission to investigate the failure of Capitol police to prevent the attack and any ties between police and the riot leaders. It would also propose reforms to the recruitment and practices of the Capitol police. Do you support or oppose the creation of such a commission?
