60 Percent of Wisconsin Voters Support Replacing Senator Ron Johnson

In a new Data for Progress and MoveOn state poll, 60% of likely Wisconsin voters say they would support replacing Senator Ron Johnson after his role in inciting the Capitol insurrection riots that resulted in five deaths. This majority includes 60% of Independent voters, 81% of Democratic voters, and nearly two in five likely Republican voters (39%). 

In addition, 55% of voters in Senator Johnson’s home state say he should resign, and 52% say he should be expelled from the Senate. 56% of Independents support Senator Johnson’s resignation, and 52% of Independents support his expulsion.

Methodology

From January 10 to January 12, 2021, Data for Progress conducted a survey of 583 likely voters in Wisconsin using web panel respondents. The sample was weighted to be representative of likely voters by age, gender, education, race, and voting history. The survey was conducted in English. The margin of error is ±4.1 percentage points.
