Memo: Colorado Voters Support a Federal Clean Electricity Standard
In mid-June 2021, Data for Progress and Western Resource Advocates polled likely voters in urban, suburban, and rural Colorado to assess support for President Joe Biden’s proposed clean electricity standard, along with other key climate and clean energy provisions in the American Jobs Plan.
We found that a clear majority of Colorado voters support putting America on a path to achieve 100% clean electricity by 2035, including a majority of Democrats and Independents and more than 40% of Republicans.
We also found that Colorado voters support federal investments in clean energy jobs, even after being presented with counterarguments, and those voters support the American Jobs Plan’s incentives for low-pollution technologies.
