65 Percent of Americans Support Monthly $2,000 Coronavirus Relief Payments
In a new national poll, 65% of voters say they would support a $2,000 monthly direct cash payment to every American for the duration of the pandemic. 60% of independent voters support the measure, along with 54% of Republicans.

This weekend, Data for Progress released national polling showing that 62% of national voters say they blame Republican leaders for the recent failure on $2,000 one-time payments. 47% specifically blame Congressional Republicans and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

On December 30, 2020, Data for Progress conducted a survey of 1166 likely voters nationally using web panel respondents. The sample was weighted to be representative of likely voters by age, gender, education, race, and voting history. The survey was conducted in English. The margin of error is ±2.9 percentage points.
